Following a wet weekend in Jacksonville the Stone Crusher team traveled back to their home state of Virginia to do battle in the confines of the Richmond Coliseum for three events at the capital city. Second year driver Bryan Wright took over driving duties from Steve Sims for the weekend, while Young Gun Steven Sims would occupy Wright’s usual seat in Hooked. Wright had a strong weekend of racing behind the wheel of the Stone Crusher. Friday night he put the truck into the final round against Grinder after taking out El Toro Loco and Monster Mutt along the way, but was unable to pick up one more round win on the night. The following afternoon Wright made it to the semi-finals only to get taken out by teammate Steven Sims and Hooked who would go on to win the racing competition. Saturday night saw the culmination of Wright’s efforts though, as he once again made it into the final round against Grinder, and picked up the racing victory.
Freestyle went well overall for Wright despite an early rollover Saturday afternoon that left the Stone Crusher without a few body panels for the Saturday night event. Wright delivered solid performances throughout the weekend for the many loyal Virginia Stone Crusher fans that packed the Richmond Coliseum.
This coming weekend the Stone Crusher team heads north to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania for one final weekend of regular season competition before the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas. Be sure to keep up with the team here and on Facebook by liking the official Stone Crusher Monster Truck page.
